Mastermind behind the legendary PSI parties and a DJ of unmatched skill, Pat has rocked dancefloors across the country with his own signature blend of auditory stimulation. His style spans the trance spectrum ranging from the harder edged South African twilight sound to smooth melodic daytime progressive, with elements of electro, minimal, and tech house. After six years spent collecting music and honing his skills in NYC, Pat returned to his hometown of Philadelphia in 2006 to help take Philly trance to the next level. A true veteran of the trance scene with an ear for tunes that clean one’s head and compel the body to dance, Pat’s versatility, effortless mixing technique, and energetic track selection have combined to make him a crowd favorite. Smooth yet crunchy, raw yet refined, psychedelicious and immensely satisfying. The Sound of the Philly Underground!

He has had the honor of playing alongside some of the biggest names in the international psytrance scene including Absolum, Hux Flux, Etnica, Shift, Artifakt, Phatmatix, Protoculture, Atomic Pulse, Deviant Species, Aphid Moon, Dick Trevor, Rastaliens, Braincell, Human Blue, Reefer Decree, Gus Till, Chromatone, Random, Naked Tourist, Penta, Horror Place, Polyphonia, Mubali, Electrypnose, Lemurians, Yab-Yum, Dejan, Jellyheadz, Phase Phour, Astrometrix, Onnomon, Loud, Psymmetrix, Kenji Williams, Earworm, Shapestatic, Loopus in Fabula, Ajja, Zuloop, Fragletrollet, Aes Dana, and Solar Fields.

James Watts boasts an impressive and expansive discography of styles and collaborations that dates back to the early 90s demoscene and has steadily progressed forward towards making some of the most influential electronic albums to date. Having worked with some of the greatest minds in the industry, including Bluetech, Bil Bless, Tanner Ross, Peter Van Ewijk, and labels Native State Records, Mothership, Dependent, and Thoughtless Music, he has greeted the challenges in the music business with inspired optimism, smiles, and an infectious easy going attitude. In 2009, he played an extensive tour schedule in cities all over the US and Canada. In the same year we saw his 6th solo album ‘Undercurrent’, the debut Voodeux album ‘The Paranormal’, and the 2nd KiloWatts & Vanek album ‘Focus & Flow’. It’s fair to say the man lives and breathes electronic music.

His work embraces the bulk of electronic genres, including breaks, IDM, techno, and downtempo. His albums on Artificial Music Machine that are full of visionary dimensions, fusing together a dexterous knowledge of sound synthesis, deep emotional articulation, and solid melodic intuition. Peppered throughout these monumental statements are releases with class labels such as Somnia, Thoughtless Music, and his own outlet, KiloWatts Music, that celebrate his adept technical expertise, often bringing a whirlwind of digital wizardry in the form of glitches and edits. The list of projects and collaborations continues to grow, but some of the highlights are: Skeetaz, with breakbeat cohort Bil Bless brings hard-hitting digital glitched-out psychedelic funk. His collaboration with singer Peter Van Ewijk is a mystical ride with vocals and guitar, nested atop edgy electronica. With Tanner Ross, an eerie style of dark techno is born under the name Voodeux for
Dirtybird’s techno sublabel Mothership. Fellow Philadelphian MC Amagine delivers consciousness-driven motifs in their digital glitch-hop project called Super Galactic Expansive.

Djing for over a decade now, boogie has changed styles a few times as his music tastes were altered. Starting out way back DJing techno on vinyl, he’s made his way through “hard trance” and techy house to finally reside with a type of driving, full power psy trance. boogie has been lucky enough to have shared the stage with the likes of Ajja, Infected Mushroom, Yab Yum, Cosmosis, Mexican Trance Mafia, Transdriver, Grapes of Wrath, Jelly Headz, Parus, Earworm, Primordial Ooze, Onkel Dunkel, and more.

boogie remix and Rinsing Live!

Uncategorized | Posted by billyboogie June 18th, 2010

Coalesce festival was rocking last weekend. Luckily I got to throw down my set at full volume before the cops got involved. See dants foto gallery for pics. This week brings more excitement and I’ve entered a remix contest to play Camp Bisco 9. I don’t know if they’d be ready for full power boogie, but they better be. First I need everyone to vote for my remix! Here it is:

It was done on the fly with my new APC40. The whole thing is pretty much a shot in the dark, but whatever.

ALSO!!!! Next friday the 25th Rinse, Repeat. will make their triumphant return to the Brighton Bar in Long Branch NJ. This is where we played our first shows backing up Strollo’s brothers band West End Redemption. They’ll be hosting us again and releasing their new album. Come up and check it out!

For those of you living in the north east (maybe other places too) There’s no denying it. Sprummer is here. That means outdoor parties, concerts and all types of brouhaha. So, I’ve linked up reverb nation’s show widget to boogie’s page and Rinse, Repeat.’s page. Despite that fact, I’ll mention two of the bigger shows that come to mind.

THE BIG BANG BELTANE BLISS BASH & BAZAAR (Click)

Too many details to even mention here. A great musical and otherwise artistic event featuring the sound stylings of

Rinse, Repeat.

Kilowatts

Super Galactic Expansive

The Great Mundane

Aligning Minds

Also a special opening DJ Set from our friend Orbicles

Non-musical items include: yoga, massage, vegetarian cuisine, hopefully sunshine, and some hooping.

THEN: This summer we’ll be joining the Ab-n-Jacks festival our in Morrisville PA for a couple days of camping and some tunage. Lineup tba, as well as a special surprise. More details to come on this front. It’s being held on August 7-8.

Piney Power: Mission complete

Uncategorized | Posted by billyboogie March 15th, 2010

Piney Power went over pretty well last friday. The owner asked if we wanted a monthly. I don’t know if we’re up for that, but we’ll see. Maybe an every other month kinda deal.

Basically, a bunch of wicked unreleased stuff from Peak and Warp Brain Records. Wicked wicked stuff.

Here’s a few videos taken by Jan, the deco person.
